Nygren Nordén Advisory was advisor to the owners of Sura Magnets on the sale to Investment AB Spiltan.
Investment AB Spiltan has acquired 45% of the shares in Sura Magnets, which is a leading supplier of permanent magnets based in Söderköping. The company has a turnover of approximately SEK 80 million and has supplied magnets to, among other things, the automotive and medical technology industries for over 60 years.
– I had intended to sell the entire company, but when Spiltan offered me the opportunity to keep a large share in the company, I thought it was more attractive. Through Spiltan, we also get a long-term owner who buys to keep and has financial muscle, says Bertil Torgilsman, former principal owner of Sura Magnets.
– We see great growth potential in Sura Magnets as vehicles increasingly contain magnets to make them more functional. The company also specializes in plastic-bonded precision magnets and has unique competence and know-how in terms of both personnel and management, says Per H. Börjesson, CEO of Spiltan.
The private investor Thomas Wernhoff also takes an ownership stake in Sura Magnets and becomes chairman of the board of the company.
– With the new owners, we can now expand the business and maybe even create more jobs in Söderköping, says CEO Tommy Andersson, who has also previously been a partner in the company.
